A new chemosensor 7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole-4-allyl-N-(thiophen-2-ylmethyl)carbamate (NBDTC) was synthesized and utilized for palladium detection based on the Tsuji-Trost reaction. NBDTC displayed specific and ratiometric fluorescent responses toward palladium species. The chemosensor showed more than 50-fold enhancement in fluorescence intensity with the presence of PEG400 and palladium because NBDTC can be transformed to NBDT under palladium-catalyzing Tsuji-Trost reaction. NBDTC displayed high selectivity and sensitivity for palladium species with the detection limit of 1.13×10(-9) M.

This work reports the step-wise fabrication of a core-shell plasmonic nanocomposite Pd@BTL-Cd consisting of a BTL-Cd shell and a palladium nanoparticle core. BTL-Cd is the [Cd(BTL)·CdCl] complex where the heptadentate framework of the bis-compartmental ligand encapsulated two Cd(II) centres in separate pockets. Pd@BTL-Cd has been found to be highly efficient for the photocatalytic conversion of furfural (a biomass-derived aldehyde) to furfuryl amine reductive amination in aqueous ammonia at room temperature.

Dynamically interconvertible metallo-supramolecular multicomponent assemblies, coexisting orthogonally in solution, serve as simplified mimics for complex networks found in biological systems. Building on recent advances in controlling the nonstatistical self-assembly of heteroleptic coordination cages and heteromeric completive self-sorting, i.e.

Targeting DNA repair mechanisms, particularly PARP-1 inhibition, has emerged as a promising strategy for developing anticancer therapies. we designed and synthesized two 2-thiazolecarboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazone palladium(II) complexes (C1 and C2), and evaluated their anti-cancer activities. These Pd(II) complexes exhibited potent PARP-1 enzyme inhibition and demonstrated considerable antiproliferative activity against various cancer cell lines.

Palladium catalysts form a cornerstone of modern chemistry with upmost scientific and industrial impact. Bulk palladium metal itself is chemically inert, and a sequence of chemical transformations has to be utilized to convert the metal into Pd pre-catalyst covered by ligands. However, the "cocktail" of catalysis concept discovered recently has shown that Pd systems can efficiently operate in catalysis without the necessity of a complicated and expensive pre-installed ligand environment.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs), known for their exceptional in situ encapsulation and precise release capabilities, are emerging as pioneering drug delivery systems. This study introduces a hypoxia-responsive COF designed to encapsulate the chemotherapy drug gambogic acid (GA) in situ. Bimetallic gold-palladium islands were grown on UiO-66-NH (UiO) to form UiO@Au-Pd (UAPi), which were encapsulated with GA through COF membrane formation, resulting in a core-shell structure (UAPiGC).
