Gastric cancer (GC) is a formidable adversary in the field of oncology. The low early diagnosis rate of GC results in a low overall survival rate. Therefore, early accurate diagnosis and effective treatment are the key to reduce the mortality of GC.

Hyperbolic metamaterials (HMMs) have recently attracted significant research attention due to their hyperbolic wavevector iso-frequency contour, which leads to substantial local electric field (EF) enhancements that benefit optical processes, such as the nonlinear generation, quantum science, biomedical sensing, and more. However, three main challenges hinder their practical implementation: the difficulty in exciting their resonant modes using free-space incidence, the weak enhancement of surface EF, and the narrow spectral range of EF enhancements. Herein, we proposed cross-etched HMMs (CeHMMs) as a novel type of HMM, addressing these issues.

Developments in basic stem cell biology have paved the way for technology translation in human medicine. An exciting prospective use of stem cells is the ex vivo generation of hepatic and pancreatic endocrine cells for biomedical applications. This includes creating novel models 'in a dish' and developing therapeutic strategies for complex diseases, such as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and diabetes.

Background: Transitioning into the first year of clinical practice as a nurse or changing specialties in the nursing career presents a critical phase for novice nurses characterized by excitement, apprehension, and the phenomenon of "transition shock." Within perioperative nursing, this transition phase takes on distinctive challenges. However, there is a lack of empirical evidence on transition programs and arrangements.
