Surface primary bone tumors may appear similar to their intramedullary counterpart, but because they are rare, they may pose diagnostic challenges when showing different characteristics compared to their intramedullary counterpart. It is important for radiologists to recognize the imaging findings for various uncommon surface primary bone tumors, which may help to reduce the differential diagnosis or to lead to a specific diagnosis. Radiography is typically used for first-line imaging. If necessary, it is followed by CT or MRI for evaluation and characterization of surface bone tumors. The aim of this article is to review the imaging findings and differential diagnosis for surface primary bone tumors.

Chordomas are a low-to-intermediate-grade slow-growing subtype of sarcoma, but show propensity to grow and invade locally with recurrence and metastasis in 10-40% of cases. We describe the first case of spontaneous regression of a solid tumor (histologically and immunohistochemically proven chordoma) after COVID-19. A female patient with clival chordoma underwent occipitocervical fixation prior to tumor resection.

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder arising de novo or with an autosomal dominant transmission that typically presents either at birth or in early childhood, manifesting through distinctive clinical features such as multiple café-au-lait spots, benign tumors in the skin, bone enlargement, and deformities. This literature review aims to resume the spectrum of maternal and fetal complications encountered in pregnant women with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Thorough research was conducted on databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, and Wiley Online Library.

: Accurate and reproducible spleen volume measurements are essential for assessing treatment response and disease progression in myelofibrosis. This study evaluates techniques for measuring spleen volume on abdominal MRI. : In 20 patients with bone marrow biopsy-proven myelofibrosis, 5 observers independently measured spleen volume on 3 abdominal MRI pulse sequences, 3D-spoiled gradient echo T1, axial single-shot fast spin echo (SSFSE) T2, and coronal SSFSE T2, using ellipsoidal approximation, manual contouring, and 3D nnU-Net model-assisted contouring comparing coefficients of variation.

Anteriorly, the tumor widely invaded the mediastinum and displaced the aorta; on the left side, it expanded in the subpleuric region; posteriorly, it was uncommonly distant 13 mm from the posterior wall.

The aim of this work was to explore the biomarkers associated with epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and mineralization processes as new prognostic factors across different breast cancer phenotypes. To this end, 133 breast biopsies, including benign and malignant lesions, with or without microcalcifications, were retrospectively collected. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed to evaluate the expression of vimentin, BMP-2, BMP-4, RANKL, Runx2, OPN, PTX3, and SDF-1, while Kaplan-Meier plots were used to assess their prognostic impact on overall survival in a dataset of 2976 breast cancer patients.
