Globally, domestic refrigerators account for over 13% of the total energy consumption in residential buildings. The brazed plate water-cooled condenser (BPWCC) is compact in size and an attractive option to reduce the energy consumption of refrigerators using domestic water tanks. This study evaluated the performance of a household refrigerator with a secondary refrigerant calorimeter and BPWCC, using an appropriate experimental setup.

This study first proposes an innovative method for optimizing the maximum power extraction from photovoltaic (PV) systems during dynamic and static environmental conditions (DSEC) by applying the horse herd optimization algorithm (HHOA). The HHOA is a bio-inspired technique that mimics the motion cycles of an entire herd of horses. Next, the linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) was applied to monitor the HHOA's reference voltage output.

Research has consistently linked exposure to particulate matter (PM) with adverse health outcomes, including cardiovascular and pulmonary morbidity and mortality. Understanding the mechanisms by which PM leads to these effects on human health is crucial for developing effective mitigation strategies. One aspect of PM research that has gained increased attention in the past few years is the bioaccessibility of inhaled PM-bound pollutants that have potential to cause adverse health effects.

Herein, a WO@TCN photocatalyst was successfully synthesized using a self-assembly method, which demonstrated effectiveness in degrading organic dyestuffs and photocatalytic evolution of H. The synergistic effect between WO and TCN, along with the porous structure of TCN, facilitated the formation of a heterojunction that promoted the absorption of visible light, accelerated the interfacial charge transfer, and inhibited the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. This led to excellent photocatalytic performance of 3%WO@TCN in degrading TC and catalyzing H evolution from water splitting under visible-light irradiation.

This study investigates the efficacy of polyacrylamide-based polymers, specifically hydrolysed polyacrylamide (HPAM), in reducing solids production within carbonate reservoirs. Building on our earlier simulation approach, molecular simulations were conducted to examine how these polymers adsorb onto calcite, the main mineral found in carbonate formations. The adsorption process was affected by several factors, including polymer molecular weight, charge density, temperature, and salinity.
