Asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AF4) has been considered to be a useful tool for simultaneous separation and characterization of polydisperse macromolecules or colloidal nanoparticles. AF4 analysis requires the knowledge of the channel thickness (w), which is usually measured by injecting a standard with known diffusion coefficient (D) or hydrodynamic diameter (dh). An accurate w determination is a challenge due to its uncertainties arising from the membrane's compressibility, which may vary with experimental condition. In the present study, influence of factors including the size and type of the standard on the measurement of w was systematically investigated. The results revealed that steric effect and the particles-membrane interaction by van der Waals or electrostatic force may result in an error in w measurement.

Spectral gamma ray borehole logging data can yield insights into the physical properties of lake sediments, serving as a valuable proxy for assessing climate and environmental changes. The presence of tephra layers resulting from volcanic ash deposition is not related to climate and environmental conditions. As a result, these layers pose challenges when attempting to analyze paleoclimate and environmental time series.

This paper introduces a Coriolis mass flow and density sensor. The sensor is made using Surface Channel Technology (SCT) but with selective wet etching to create the channels. This method forms suspended microfluidic channels with a larger cross-sectional area.

This study conducted experiments to investigate the flexural behavior of steel-concrete composite beams with U-shaped sections, utilizing cold-formed lipped channels as web components. To enhance both flexural and shear performance, trapezoidal plates were added to the lower sides of the composite beams. A total of ten specimens were fabricated, with variables defined according to the following criteria: presence of bottom tension reinforcement and bottom studs, thickness of the trapezoidal side plates (6 mm and 8 mm), and the welding method.

Cannabichromene (CBC) is one of the main cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and although less well known than tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), it is gaining attention for its potential therapeutic benefits. To date, CBC's known mechanisms of action include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antidepressant, antimicrobial, neuroprotective, and anti-acne effects through TRP channel activation and the inhibition of inflammatory pathways, suggesting that it may have therapeutic potential in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis (AD), but its exact mechanism of action remains unclear. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the effects of CBC on Th2 cytokines along with the Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathways involved in AD pathogenesis.
