2-Butyl 2-dodecenoate has been synthesized from lauric acid and sec-butanol. The study of the biological activity of this substance has demonstrated its property as a sex attractant for males of Jordanita graeca, Jordanita globulariae and Theresimima ampellophaga (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae, Procridinae). The latter species is the grape pest in southern Europe. The attractant obtained can be used for the detection of species, for monitoring their numbers in nature and for the elaboration of ecological methods of pest control.

This research presents novel ibuprofen derivatives in the form of alkyl ester salts of L-amino acids with potential analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties for potential use in transdermal therapeutic systems. New derivatives of ()-2-[4-(2-methylpropyl)phenyl]propionic acid were synthesized using hydrochlorides of alkyl esters (ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, -butyl, -butyl, and pentyl) of L-glutamine. These were further transformed into alkyl esters of L-amino acid ibuprofenates through neutralization and protonation reactions.

Biologically active natural compounds are molecules produced by plants or plant-related microbes, such as endophytes. Many of these metabolites have a wide range of antimicrobial activities and other pharmaceutical properties. This study aimed to evaluate () the antifungal activities of the secondary metabolites obtained from against the pathogenic fungus .

A novel bench-stable V-catalyst [(L)VO](ClO) was synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and FT-IR, UV-visible, and EPR spectroscopies, which confirmed its excellent catalytic activity. In application, aldehydes are rapidly converted into their corresponding esters without additives in a one-pot manner using a newly developed catalyst [(L)VO](ClO) and HO as a green oxidant. The developed method is compatible with a broad range of densely substituted aldehydes and allows for the facile preparation of aliphatic, aromatic, and heterocyclic esters, including esters derived from CDOD, methanol, ethanol, -propanol, -butanol, -butyl alcohol, and propargylic alcohol.

Dichloromethane (DCM) is a useful and advantageous solvent used in pharmaceutical development due to its low cost, miscibility with other organic solvents, high volatility, and ability to solubilize drug molecules of variable polarities and functionalities. Despite this favourable behaviour, efforts to identify safer and more sustainable alternatives to hazardous, halogenated solvents is imperative to the expansion of green chemistry. In this work, bio-derived esters -butyl acetate, -butyl acetate, ethyl isobutyrate, and methyl pivalate are experimentally identified as safe and sustainable alternatives to directly replace DCM within thin-layer chromatography (TLC) in the analysis of small, common drug molecules.

(Rubiaceae) is a basic drink for all Gulf societies, especially Saudi Arabia, it is the main part of the Saudi tradition. This investigation was carried out to track the chemical composition, caffeine content by UV-visible spectrophotometer, acrylamide content by using a gas chromatograph, free radical scavenging capacity by DPPH methods as well as determined the browning index and separated the volatiles compounds using GC-MS for the most common three degree of roasted Arabic coffee; light (180 ± 10 °C; 6.0 ± 1.
