Background: Polymicrobial pulmonary infections, common in immunocompromised patients, often manifest more severe symptoms than monomicrobial infections. Clinical diagnosis delays may lead to mortality, emphasizing the importance of fast and accurate diagnosis for these patients. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS), as an unbiased method capable of detecting all microbes, is a valuable tool to identify pathogens, particularly in cases where infections are difficult to diagnosis using conventional methods.

The diagnostic process and discrimination of mucosal lesions present a formidable challenge for numerous clinicians, primarily attributable to the common overlap of clinical manifestations observed across various categories, including infectious, autoimmune, connective tissue, and systemic vascular inflammatory diseases. In cases of mucosal lesions, syphilis presents distinctive characteristics that can help clinicians differentiate it from other conditions. The most common manifestation of primary syphilis is mostly a painless, firm, indurated ulcer known as a chancre, which typically appears at the site of inoculation, with enlargement of regional lymph nodes.

Background: Intradural extramedullary tuberculoma of the spinal cord (IETSC) is an exceedingly rare manifestation of tuberculosis (TB) affecting the central nervous system.
Case Description: A 33-year-old immunocompetent female with disseminated TB, including pulmonary involvement and leptomeningeal tuberculomas, developed progressive paraplegia and urinary incontinence over 2 months. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed diffuse intradural extramedullary soft tissue from C7 to L2 vertebral levels, indicative of abscess formation and severe spinal cord compression.

Background: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) shows potential for the differential diagnosis of breast lesions in general, but its effectiveness remains unclear for the differential diagnosis of lesions highly suspicious for breast cancers.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of CEUS in differentiating pathological subtypes of suspicious breast lesions defined as category 4 of US-BI-RADS.
Methods: The dataset of 150 breast lesions was prospectively collected from 150 patients who underwent routine ultrasound and CEUS examination and were highly suspected of having breast cancers.
