The high entropy alloy (HEA) possesses distinctive thermal stability and electronic characteristics, which exhibits substantial potential for diverse applications in electrocatalytic reactions. However, accurately controlling the size of HEA still remains a challenge, especially for the ultrasmall HEA nanoparticles. Herein, we firstly calculate and illustrate the size impact on the electronic structure of HEA and the adsorption energies of crucial intermediates in typical electrocatalytic reactions, such as the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), CO2 electroreduction (CO2RR) and NO3- electroreduction (NO3RR).

Metal nanoclusters (NCs) with dimensions of approximately 3 nm serve as a crucial link between metal-organic complexes and metal nanoparticles, garnering significant interest due to their distinctive molecule-like characteristics. These include well-defined molecular structures, clear HOMO-LUMO transitions, quantized charge, and robust luminescence emission. Atomically precise alloy NCs, in contrast to homometallic NCs, exhibit a wealth of structures and intriguing properties, with their novel attributes often intricately tied to the positions of alloyed elements within the structure, facilitating the exploration of structure-property relationships.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a destructive mental disease, yet the mechanism is still not clear. Carbonic anhydrase, an efficient catalyst for CO conversion to carbonate and protons, could affect many functions, such as memory formation recognition. Lately, we illustrated that carbonic anhydrase 1 (CAR1) knockout (CAR1) mice could lead to depressive-like behaviors, but the underlying molecular mechanism is unknown.

With numerous advantages over conventional techniques, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) has become a viable method for the effective extraction of biomolecules from prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. The fundamentals and workings of UAE are examined in this review, focusing on current developments, including how these impact the extraction of proteins, lipids, enzymes, and other bioactive compounds. UAE not only enhances cell disruption and mass transfer, leading to improved extraction yields, but also preserves the integrity of the extracted bioactive molecules under optimized conditions, making it a preferred choice in Biochemistry and Biotechnology.
