We propose and systematically investigate a novel tunable, compact room temperature terahertz (THz) source based on difference frequency generation in a hybrid optical and THz micro-ring resonator. We describe detailed design steps of the source capable of generating THz wave in 0.5-10 THz with a tunability resolution of 0.05 THz by using high second order optical susceptibility (χ((2))) in crystals and polymers. In order to enhance THz generation compared to bulk nonlinear material, we employ a nonlinear optical micro-ring resonator with high-Q resonant modes for infrared input waves. Another ring oscillator with the same outer radius underneath the nonlinear ring with an insulation of SiO2 layer supports the generated THz with resonant modes and out-couples them into a THz waveguide. The phase matching condition is satisfied by engineering both the optical and THz resonators with appropriate effective indices. We analytically estimate THz output power of the device by using practical values of susceptibility in available crystals and polymers. The proposed source can enable tunable, compact THz emitters, on-chip integrated spectrometers, inspire a broader use of THz sources and motivate many important potential THz applications in different fields.

This paper presents a D-band dual linear-polarized wideband high-gain reflectarray (RA) antenna using low-temperature co-fired-ceramic (LTCC) technology. The proposed element comprises a dual-polarized magnetoelectric (ME) dipole and a multilayer slot-coupling substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) phase-delay structure, which are organized in accordance with the receiving/reradiating (R/R) principle. The coverage of phase shifts for both orthogonal polarizations is set to be greater than 360 degrees by varying the length of the phase-delay structure.

Unveiling the nonlinear interactions between terahertz (THz) electromagnetic waves and free carriers in two-dimensional materials is crucial for the development of high-field and high-frequency electronic devices. Herein, we investigate THz nonlinear transport dynamics in a monolayer graphene/MoS heterostructure using time-resolved THz spectroscopy with intense THz pulses as the probe. Following ultrafast photoexcitation, the interfacial charge transfer establishes a nonequilibrium carrier redistribution, leaving free holes in the graphene and trapping electrons in the MoS.

We report a nonlinear terahertz (THz) detection device based on a metallic bull's-eye plasmonic antenna. The antenna, fabricated with femtosecond laser direct writing and deposited on a nonlinear gallium phosphide (GaP) crystal, focuses incoming THz waveforms within the sub-wavelength bull's eye region to locally enhance the THz field. Additionally, the plasmonic structure minimizes diffraction effects allowing a relatively long interaction length between the transmitted THz field and the co-propagating near-infrared gating pulse used in an electro-optic sampling configuration.

In women globally, breast cancer ranks as the second most frequent cause of cancer-related deaths, making up about 25% of female cancer cases, which is pretty standard in affluent countries. Breast cancer is divided into subtypes based on aggressive, genetic and stage. The precise cause of the problem is still unknown.
