Herein, we discuss the idea that fluorescent materials/molecules should logically show potential photoelectrochemistry (PEC) activity, and, in particular, the PEC of fluorescent small molecules (previously usually acting only as dye sensitizers for conventional semiconductors) is explored. After examining the PEC activities of some typical inorganic or organic fluorescent materials/molecules and by adopting methyl violet (MV) with the highest PEC activity among the examined fluorescent small molecules, a new and efficient (MV/Au nanoparticles (AuNPs))/fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) photoanode without conventional semiconductor(s) is prepared by layer-by-layer alternating the electrodeposition of AuNPs and the adsorption of MV. A bilirubin oxidase (BOD)/CuCoO/FTO bio-photocathode is prepared by electrodeposition, calcination and cast-coating.

In order to achieve infrared aircraft detection under interference conditions, this paper proposes an infrared aircraft detection algorithm based on high-resolution feature-enhanced semantic segmentation network. Firstly, the designed location attention mechanism is utilized to enhance the current-level feature map by obtaining correlation weights between pixels at different positions. Then, it is fused with the high-level feature map rich in semantic features to construct a location attention feature fusion network, thereby enhancing the representation capability of target features.

Coal-gangue recognition technology plays an important role in the intelligent realization of integrated working faces and coal quality improvement. However, the existing methods are easily affected by high dust, noise, and other disturbances, resulting in unstable recognition results that make it difficult to meet the needs of industrial applications. To realize accurate recognition of coal-gangue in noisy environments, this paper proposes an end-to-end multi-scale feature fusion convolutional neural network (MCNN-BILSTM) based gangue recognition method, which can automatically learn and fuse complementary information from multiple signal components of vibration signals.

The electrochemical nitric oxide reduction reaction (eNORR) is an efficient method for converting aqueous NO into NH. The pursuit of innovative electrocatalysts with enhanced activity, selectivity, durability, and cost-effectiveness for NORR remains a research focus. In this study, using particle swarm optimization (PSO) searches, density functional theory (DFT), and the constant-potential method (CPM), we predict two stable two-dimensional FeC monolayers, designated as α-FeC and β-FeC, as promising electrocatalysts for the NORR.

Enhanced mechanical properties of alkali-activated dolomite dust emulsified asphalt composites.

Sci Rep

December 2024

School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment, Hubei University of Technology, Wuhan, China.

The dolomite dust-emulsified asphalt composite (DAC) with excellent mechanical properties was successfully prepared using alkali activation. The effects of different alkali concentrations and emulsified asphalt contents on the mechanical properties of the materials were studied. And the micro-mechanisms of its mechanical performance changes were analyzed through SEM and XRD characterization.
