Importance: Pediatric peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) insertion can be difficult and time-consuming, frequently requiring multiple insertion attempts and often resulting in increased anxiety, distress, and treatment avoidance among children and their families. Ultrasound-guided PIVC insertion is a superior alternative to standard technique (palpation and visualization) in high-risk patients.
Objective: To compare first-time insertion success of PIVCs inserted with ultrasound guidance compared with standard technique (palpation and visualization) across all risk categories in the general pediatric hospital population.

Introduction: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is commonly used for diagnosing mediastinal lymphadenopathy. Despite a low complication rate, severe hemorrhage can occur which is reported in this literature, particularly in hypervascular conditions like Castleman disease.
Methods: A 54-year-old male with idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease underwent EBUS-TBNA for mediastinal lymph node sampling.

This study aims to assess the clinical efficacy and feasibility of the Perclose ProGlide Suture-Mediated Closure System (Abbott Vascular, Redwood City, CA, USA) for transbrachial access. A total of 100 patients from July 2020 to December 2023 were included in this retrospective study. Among them, 40 patients underwent ProGlide-guided suture closure following brachial artery (BA) puncture, while 60 patients received traditional manual compression.

Purpose Of The Review: This review examines the role of vascular access and closure management in cardiac electrophysiology (EP) procedures, emphasising their impact on patient outcomes and safety. It synthesises current evidence and highlights advancements, challenges, and opportunities in this critical area of EP practice.
Recent Findings: Ultrasound-guided vascular access has significantly reduced complications and improved success rates compared to traditional methods.
