Undoped and zirconium doped indium oxide (ZrIO) thin films were deposited on glass substrate at a substrate temperature of 450°C by spray pyrolysis method. The effect of zirconium (Zr) dopant concentration (0-11 at.%) on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of n-type ZrIO films were studied. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results confirmed the polycrystalline nature of the ZrIO thin film with cubic structure. The grain size was decreased from 25 to 15.75 nm with Zr doping. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the surface morphology of the films were changed with Zr doping. The surface roughness of the films was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and was found to be increased with the increasing of Zr doping percentage. A blue shift of the optical band gap was observed. The optical band was gap decreased from 3.50 to 3.0eV with increase in Zr concentrations. Room temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurement of the deposited films indicated the incorporation of Zr in In2O3 lattice. The film had low resistivity of 6.4 × 10(-4)Ωcm and higher carrier concentration of 2.5 × 10(20) was obtained at a doping ratio of 7 at.%.

The current research aims to determine the impact of orange peel dye (OPD), an eco-friendly addition, on the optical properties of biodegradable polymers. This study investigates the enhancement of optical properties in solid electrolytes based on chitosan (CS) and glycerol, with varying OPD concentrations. UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy revealed significantly enhanced UV-visible light absorption in the 200-500 nm region and effective UV light blocking.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has dramatically advanced non-invasive human brain mapping and decoding. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and high-density diffuse optical tomography (HD-DOT) non-invasively measure blood oxygen fluctuations related to brain activity, like fMRI, at the brain surface, using more-lightweight equipment that circumvents ergonomic and logistical limitations of fMRI. HD-DOT grids have smaller inter-optode spacing (~ 13 mm) than sparse fNIRS (~ 30 mm) and therefore provide higher image quality, with spatial resolution ~ 1/2 that of fMRI, when using the several source-detector distances (13-40 mm) afforded by the HD-DOT grid.

The high performance of two-dimensional (2D) channel membranes is generally achieved by preparing ultrathin or forming short channels with less tortuous transport through self-assembly of small flakes, demonstrating potential for highly efficient water desalination and purification, gas and ion separation, and organic solvent waste treatment. Here, we report the construction of vertical channels in graphene oxide (GO) membrane based on a substrate template with asymmetric pores. The membranes achieved water permeance of 2647 L m h bar while still maintaining an ultrahigh rejection rate of 99.

Band topology has emerged as a novel tool for material design across various domains, including photonic and phononic systems, and metamaterials. A prominent model for band topology is the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) chain, which reveals topological in-gap states within Bragg-type gaps (BG) formed by periodic modification. Apart from classical BGs, another mechanism for bandgap formation in metamaterials involves strong coupling between local resonances and propagating waves, resulting in a local resonance-induced bandgap (LRG).

Spasticity is a common comorbidity of spinal cord injury (SCI), disrupting motor function and resulting in significant discomfort. While elements of post-SCI spasticity can be assessed using pre-clinical SCI models, the robust measurement of spasticity severity can be difficult due to its periodic and spontaneous appearance. Electrical stimulation of sensory afferents can elicit spasticity-associated motor responses, such as spasms; however, placing surface electrodes on the hindlimbs of awake animals can induce stress or encumbrance that could influence the expression of behaviour.
