Purpose: The present study is to explore the appropriate plantar support force for its effect on improving the collapse of the medial longitudinal arch with flexible flatfoot.

Methods: A finite element model with the plantar fascia attenuation was constructed simulating as flexible flatfoot. The appropriate plantar support force was evaluated.

Background: Prior longitudinal studies among older adults have documented associations between hearing loss and changes in brain morphology. Whether interventions involving hearing aids can reduce age-related atrophy is unknown. A substudy within the Aging and Cognitive Health Evaluation in Elders (ACHIEVE, Clinicaltrials.

Article Synopsis
  • Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression varies significantly, and a machine learning model was developed to differentiate between individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) who progress to AD and those who do not, while also predicting their cognitive scores after 3 years.
  • The study utilized data from 2,428 participants in the AIBL study, employing various machine learning techniques—specifically support vector machines (SVM), gradient boosting (GB), and random forests (RF)—and determined the RF model provided the highest accuracy and predictive performance.
  • The RF-stack model not only excelled in classifying MCI progressors with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.85 but also demonstrated the lowest mean average error in

This study aimed to compare the fascicular anatomy of upper limb nerves visualized using in situ high-resolution ultrasound (HRUS) with ex vivo imaging modalities, namely, magnetic resonance microscopy (MRM), histological cross-sections (HCS), and optical projection tomography (OPT). The median, ulnar, and superficial branch of radial nerve (n = 41) were visualized in 14 cadaveric upper limbs using 22-MHz HRUS. Subsequently, the nerves were excised, imaged with different microscopic techniques, and their morphometric properties were compared.

Background: Chromosome 3q29 duplication syndrome is a rare chromosomal disorder with a frequency of 1:5000 in patients with a neurodevelopmental phenotype. The syndrome is characterized by phenotypic polymorphism and reduced penetrance.

Methods: Patients were investigated by performing a cytogenetic analysis of GTG-banded metaphases, aCGH with the SurePrint G3 Human CGH Microarray 8×60K, qPCR, FISH, and WES.
