Unlabelled: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) affect a significant number of people and the treatment is challenging and costly. Since only a small portion of patients respond to standard care, the majority require more advanced wound healing interventions. Human acellular dermal matrices-regenerative tissue matrices derived from human tissue and processed from screened donated skin-can aid wound closure by restoring the missing physiological factors to the microenvironment. A literature review of the clinical literature was performed to estimate the comparative effectiveness of one specific human acellular dermal wound matrix (HADWM; Graftjacket regenerative tissue matrix) versus standard care in healing DFUs. Outcomes from three prospective, controlled clinical trials, which included 154 patients with DFUs, were pooled. A comparative analysis revealed a statistically significant reduction in mean wound healing time, 1.7 weeks, as well as a nearly four-fold improvement in the chance of healing ulcers treated with HADWM versus moist wound-care. These pooled results suggest that HADWM may improve healing outcomes for these difficult-to-heal lower extremity wounds.

Background: Breast implants (BIs) lead to the formation of a periprosthetic capsule, causing complications like capsular contracture. Gel bleeding, involving minor silicone gel leakage through the intact implant shell, significantly promotes capsular contracture. Various pharmacological and surface treatment strategies have been explored to mitigate these issues.

Background: The cosmetic outcomes of breast-conserving surgery (BCS) have recently gained increasing attention, and surgeons are exploring the use of the acellular dermal matrix (ADM) as a safe and effective method of breast reconstruction. This study evaluated the clinical progress of patients with breast cancer following the application of sheet-type ADM for breast reconstruction after BCS.

Methods: This retrospective study included 137 patients who underwent BCS using ADM at a single center between October 2019 and October 2021.

Background: This research examines the role of systematic cardiac troponin evaluation in identifying type 1 myocardial infarction among patients presenting to the emergency department with collected blood samples.

Methods: This was a prospective study of consecutive adult patients presenting to the emergency department of a university hospital between October 22, 2020, and January 11, 2021. Cardiac troponin I levels were measured in all patients, including those with suspected acute coronary syndrome (clinical testing) and a control group undergoing routine blood tests (non-clinical testing).

Electronic address:

In vitro 3D full-thickness reconstituted human skin has high physiological relevance due to the presence of differentiation features often lacking in 2D cell cultures. Here, we present a protocol to reconstruct a 3D skin model using human fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and rat-tail collagen I. We describe steps for cell expansion, the casting of cellular and acellular layers, seeding keratinocytes, the air lifting of culture, and incubation.
