The present experimental study revealed a number of morphological features of the imprints of head hair of different length (varying from 0.5 to 24 cm). The imprints were shown to have a complicated many-component structure in which it was possible to distinguish between the central and peripheral portions. The peripheral part of the hair imprints varying in length fromn 0.5 to 2.0 cm had the shape of the elongated triangles or arrowheads. The imprints of longer hair were shaped as arcuate or linear stripes. It is concluded that the above morphological features of blood-saturated hair can be used during examination of the scene of action or performance of other forms of forensic medical expertise.

In this study, a molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor (MIECS) was constructed based on the combination of graphene quantum dots-gold nanoparticles (GQDs-AuNPs), molecular imprinting polymer (MIP), and electrochemical technology for the ultra-sensitive detection of 17β-estradiol (E). GQDs-AuNPs were synthesized and modified on the surface of glassy carbon electrodes (GCE). Safranine T was used as the functional monomer and E was the template molecule for self-assembly and electropolymerization, thus generating an MIP film on the electrode surface.

Applying long wavelength periodic potentials on quantum materials has recently been demonstrated to be a promising pathway for engineering novel quantum phases of matter. Here, we utilize twisted bilayer boron nitride (BN) as a moiré substrate for band structure engineering. Small-angle-twisted bilayer BN is endowed with periodically arranged up and down polar domains, which imprints a periodic electrostatic potential on a target two-dimensional (2D) material placed on top.

Gaucher disease (GD), an autosomal recessive lysosomal disorder, primarily affects the lysosomal enzyme β-glucocerebrosidase (GCase), leading to glucosylceramide accumulation in lysosomes. GD presents a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. This study deploys immune-based proteomics and mass spectrometry-based metabolomics technologies to comprehensively investigate the biochemical landscape in 43 deeply phenotyped type 1 GD patients compared to 59 controls.

A novel biomimetic molecular imprinted polymer chip with fluorescence (FL) and structural (STR) states, inspired by color patterns of chameleon skin, is fabricated for detecting diethylstilbestrol (DES). The chip features a regularly structured, non-closed-packed (NCP) colloidal photonic crystal (CPC) lattice made monodisperse MIP spheres containing fluorescence poly ionic liquid (FPIL) pigments. The FL color originates from FPIL pigments and is further enhanced by the Purcell effect, while the STR color results from the periodic arrangement of the NCP CPC structure.

Background: Sialoblastoma is an uncommon salivary gland neoplasm seen predominantly in the paediatric age group. It poses diagnostic challenges to the pathologists because of its rarity.
Case Report: Here, we present the cytological features of a case of sialoblastoma in 5-month-old baby boy on imprint cytology.
