A 70 year-old woman visited our hospital complaining of macrohematuria. She had undergone augmentation ileocystoplasty for tuberculous bladder atrophy 50 years previously. CT and cystoscopy showed tumor at the ileovesical anastomosis. She underwent a partial cystectomy. The pathological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma of the ileal segment. Recurrence was observed with rapid progression. The patient died 8 months after the operation. In Japanese literature, 43 cases of carcinoma arising in augumented bladder have been reported. Average period to the diagnosis of the cancer from the ileocystoplasty is 33 years. The period of our case was 50 years, the longest in 43 cases.

Summary: Craniopharyngiomas (CPs) are rare brain epithelial tumours arising in the suprasellar region, infiltrating adjacent areas causing visual loss, panhypopituitarism, cognitive deficits and morbid obesity. Papillary CPs (PCPs) harbour in 94% BRAF mutation cases. Two patients with PCP and BRAF V600E mutations but with different tumour status were treated with BRAF and MEK inhibitors.

Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) accounts for ~20% of all breast cancer diagnoses but whilst known to be a precursor of invasive breast cancer (IBC), evidence suggests only one in six patients will ever progress. A key challenge is to distinguish between those lesions that will progress and those that will remain indolent. Molecular analyses of neoplastic epithelial cells have not identified consistent differences between lesions that progressed and those that did not, and this has focused attention on the tumour microenvironment (ME).

Liposomal irinotecan (Onivyde), also known as liposomal pegylated irinotecan, has been developed with the intent of maximising anti-tumour efficacy and minimising drug-related toxicities compared with conventional formulations of this topoisomerase 1 inhibitor. In combination with fluorouracil, leucovorin and oxaliplatin (NALIRIFOX), liposomal irinotecan is approved in the USA and the EU for first-line therapy of eligible patients with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma. In a phase III clinical trial, NALIRIFOX significantly improved overall survival (OS) and progression free survival (PFS) compared with gemcitabine plus nanoparticle albumin bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) as first-line treatment of patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (mPDAC).

Purpose: After initial approval of lenvatinib for radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), it has also shown promising outcomes in among others metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Given that trial populations typically do not represent routine clinical care populations, questions arise about how applicable trial outcomes are in clinical practice. This study aims to compare the pharmacokinetics (PK), toxicity patterns, and survival data of lenvatinib in a real-world cohort with DTC and mRCC to those observed in pivotal clinical trials.

Background: Colorectal metastasis from gastric cancer is very rare, with existing literature limited to only a few case reports. This study was designed to investigate the clinicopathological features and prognosis of colorectal metastasis arising from gastric cancer.
Methods: Patients with colorectal metastasis from gastric cancer who underwent surgical intervention at a single tertiary hospital between January 2010 and June 2023 were included, and their clinicopathological characteristics and oncologic outcomes were analyzed.
