The receptor for diuretic hormone 31 (DH31R) was identified in the silkworm Bombyx mori. A heterologous expression system revealed that an orphan G-protein coupled receptor, BNGR-B1, responded to DH31 and upregulated the intracellular cAMP level. DH31R (BNGR-B1) was predominantly expressed in the anterior silk gland, midgut, and ovary, whereas DH31 was predominantly expressed in the central nervous system and midgut.

Background: The pathophysiology of polyuria and polydipsia secondary to exogenous glucocorticoid excess is incompletely understood.
Objective: Investigate plasma AVP (pAVP) and serum CoP (sCoP) concentrations in healthy dogs before, during, and after abrupt discontinuation of a long-term course of orally administered prednisolone.
Animals: Eight healthy neutered young adult research Beagles.

Background: Hyponatremia is one of the complicating findings in acute decompensated heart failure. Decrease in cardiac output and systemic blood pressure triggers activation of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, antidiuretic hormone, and norepinephrine due to the perceived hypovolemia. Fluid-overloaded heart failure patients are commonly treated with loop diuretics, acutely decompensated heart failure patients tend to be less responsive to conventional oral doses of a loop diuretic, while other different diuretics could work in different part of nephron circulation system.

Several trials have evaluated diuretic-based strategies to improve symptoms and outcomes in patients with acute heart failure (AHF). The authors sought to summarize the effect of different combination strategies on symptoms, physical signs, physiological variables, and outcomes in patients with AHF. Twelve trials were identified that assessed the addition of thiazide diuretics, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, vasopressin receptor antagonists, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, or loop diuretic intensification to conventional therapy for AHF.

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is a known side effect of systemic steroid therapy. The role of intravitreal steroids in causing CSC is controversial. We present two cases of acute CSC that developed after intravitreal steroid injections.

It has been found that by behavioral and hemodynamic parameters the physiological activity of angiotensin II (Ang II) in combination with mLDL is considerably modified due to weakening of its diuretic effect and the inversion of hypertensive and tachyarrhythmic effects. Atherosclerosis is a long-term pathological process, so a single administration of artificially synthesized Ang I-mLDL complexes can be considered a model of the first contact of the body with pathogenic factors.
