The 17th Annual Symposium on Clinical and Pharmaceutical Solutions through Analysis (CPSA) 29 September-2 October 2014, was held at the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel, Langhorne, PA, USA. The CPSA USA 2014 brought the various analytical fields defining the challenges of the modern analytical laboratory. Ongoing discussions focused on the future application of bioanalysis and other disciplines to support investigational new drugs (INDs) and new drug application (NDA) submissions, clinical diagnostics and pathology laboratory personnel that support patient sample analysis, and the clinical researchers that provide insights into new biomarkers within the context of the modern laboratory and personalized medicine.

The amount of CD34 cells has been for decades the most important marker of autologous graft quality, but other graft cells, including various lymphocyte subsets, have gained some interest. This review attempts to summarize what is known about autograft cellular composition regarding post-transplant outcomes. The amount of CD34 cells in the graft is associated with tempo of platelet recovery.

Including sensor information in medical interventions aims to support surgeons to decide on subsequent action steps by characterizing tissue intraoperatively. With bladder cancer, an important issue is tumor recurrence because of failure to remove the entire tumor. Impedance measurements can help to classify bladder tissue and give the surgeons an indication on how much tissue to remove.

Graph data is essential for modeling complex relationships among entities. Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have demonstrated effectiveness in processing low-order undirected graph data; however, in complex directed graphs, relationships between nodes extend beyond first-order connections and encompass higher-order relationships. Additionally, the asymmetry introduced by edge directionality further complicates node interactions, presenting greater challenges for extracting node information.

Background: Rehabilitation technology is a growing field, but the sustainable implementation of these technologies, particularly in home settings, is lacking. The aim of this study was to explore the factors influencing the uptake of stroke rehabilitation technology among various stakeholders, including developers, healthcare professionals, individuals who had strokes, strategic experts, management and innovation staff, health insurers, and the National Health Care Institute.
Methods: In total, 22 semi-structured interviews were conducted with a purposive stakeholder sample.

Recurrent psychosocial stress poses a significant health challenge, prompting research into mechanisms of successful adaptation. Physiological habituation, defined as decreased reactivity to repeated stressors, is pivotal in protecting the organism from allostatic load. Here, we systematically review and meta-analyze data from studies investigating the capacity of central stress systems to habituate when repeatedly exposed to a standardized psychosocial stressor, the Trier Social Stress Test (k=47).
