Background: Modern radiation therapy techniques, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT), use complex fluence modulation strategies to achieve optimal patient dose distribution. Ensuring their accuracy necessitates rigorous patient-specific quality assurance (PSQA), traditionally done through pretreatment measurements with detector arrays. While effective, these methods are labor-intensive and time-consuming.

Understanding the relative contribution of various factors influencing initial severity of aphasia and recovery after a stroke is essential for optimising neurorehabilitation programmes. We investigated how various significant sociodemographic, cognitive, clinical, stroke-related and rehabilitation-related factors modulate aphasia severity and language recovery following left-hemispheric stroke. Employing an innovative method, we conducted a retrospective analysis of 96 stroke participants to explore the combined impact of these factors.

Significance: Advances in label-free imaging have impacted many areas of biological and biomedical imaging ranging from cell biology and cancer to pathology and neuroscience. Despite the great progress and advantages of these methods, it is clear that to realize their full potential, validation by extrinsic labels and probes is critically needed.
Aim: This perspective calls for developing and applying innovative labels and probes to validate both existing and emerging label-free imaging methods.

High-throughput DNA transformation techniques are invaluable when generating high-diversity mutant libraries, a cornerstone of successful protein engineering. However, transformation efficiencies have a direct correlation with the probability of introducing multiple DNA molecules into each cell, although reliable library screenings require cells that contain a single unique genotype. Thus, transformation methods that yield a high multiplicity of transformations are unsuitable for high-diversity library screenings.
