Dielectric elastomers have great potentials as flexible actuators in micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) due to their large deformation, light weight, mechanical compliancy, and low cost. The low dielectric constant of these elastomers requires a rather high voltage electric field, which has greatly limited their applications. In this work, a diaphragm-type flexible microactuator comprising a hyperbranched aromatic polyamide functionalized graphene (HAPFG) filler embedded into the polyurethane (PU) dielectric elastomer matrix is described. The rational designed HAPFG sheets exhibits uniform dispersion in PU matrix and strong adhesion with the matrix by hydrogen-bond coupling. Consequently, the HAPFG-PU composites possess high dielectric performance and low loss modulus. The effect of hyperbranched aromatic polyamide functionalized graphene on high voltage electric field induced strain was experimentally investigated using the Fotonic sensor. The high electric field response of the composite was discussed by applying different kinds of alternating-current field. In addition, a comparison of the breakdown strength between the HAPFG-PU composite and the pure PU was carried out.

Dielectric-based energy storage capacitors characterized with fast charging and discharging speed and reliability play a vital role in cutting-edge electrical and electronic equipment. In pursuit of capacitor miniaturization and integration, dielectrics must offer high energy density and efficiency. Antiferroelectrics with antiparallel dipole configurations have been of significant interest for high-performance energy storage due to their negligible remanent polarization and high maximum polarization in the field-induced ferroelectric state.

The emergence of generative artificial intelligence (AI) models specializing in the generation of new data with the statistical patterns and properties of the data upon which the models were trained has profoundly influenced a range of academic disciplines, industry and public discourse. Combined with the vast amounts of diverse data now available to ecologists, from genetic sequences to remotely sensed animal tracks, generative AI presents enormous potential applications within ecology. Here we draw upon a range of fields to discuss unique potential applications in which generative AI could accelerate the field of ecology, including augmenting data-scarce datasets, extending observations of ecological patterns and increasing the accessibility of ecological data.

Accurate, practical, and robust evaluation of the battery state of health is crucial to the efficient and reliable operation of electric vehicles. However, the limited availability of large-scale, high-quality field data hinders the development of the battery management system for state of health estimation, lifetime prediction, and fault detection in various applications. In this work, to gain insights into underlying factors limiting battery management system performance in real-world vehicles, we analyze the operational data of 300 diverse electric vehicles over three years to understand the disparities between field data and laboratory battery test data and their effect on state of health estimation.

Understanding the dynamics of injected charge carriers is crucial for the analysis of the perovskite light-emitting diode (PeLED) operation. The behavior of the injected carriers largely dictates the external quantum efficiency (EQE) roll-off at high current densities and the temperature dependence of the EQE in PeLEDs. However, limitations such as sample capacitance and external circuitry hinder precise control of carrier injection rates, making it challenging to directly track the dynamics of individual carriers.
