A new Mg(II) -based version of the porous coordination polymer CUK-1 with one-dimensional pore structure was prepared by microwave synthesis in water. Mg-CUK-1 is moisture-stable, thermally stable up to 500 °C, and shows unusual reversible soft-crystal behavior: dehydrated single crystals of the material selectively adsorb a range of organic molecules at ambient temperature and pressure. Both polar and apolar aromatic compounds, including pyridine, benzene, p-xylene, and p-divinylbenzene (p-DVB), are all readily adsorbed, while other isomers from complex mixtures of xylenes or DVBs are selectively excluded. The solvent-loaded structures have been studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Time-dependent liquid sorption experiments using commercially available DVB demonstrate a high and rapid selective adsorption of p-DVB and exclusion of m-DVB and ethylvinylbenzene isomers.

This study investigates the antibacterial and cancer-preventive properties of β-glucan nanoparticles (GNP) synthesised from oats using microwave energy, sodium tripolyphosphate (TPP), and silver (Ag). UV-visible spectroscopy indicated a strong surface plasmon resonance peak between 220 and 250 nm for GNP. FTIR analysis identified a band at 609 cm, signifying β linkage and confirming the presence of β-glucans.

CDs/TiO nanohybrids were synthesized and tested for photocatalytic H production from aqueous media through simulated solar light-driven photocatalytic reactions. Firstly, three different types of CDs were prepared through green methods, specifically hydrothermal treatment and microwave irradiation, using citric acid and urea as precursors in varying molar ratios. After a multi-step purification procedure, impurity-free CDs were obtained.

This research highlights the different behaviors of titanium (Ti) wires under the action of 500 W and 800 W microwave power levels. Following the interaction between microwaves and a titanium wire placed in the node of the (TM-transverse magnetic mode) waveguide in air at atmospheric pressure, plasma was generated. Using optical emission spectroscopy technique it was observed that during plasma generation at 500 W and 800 W microwaves powers, metallic ions, and gas ions were created, and the plasmas fulfilled the local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) conditions.
