Background: The tumor microenvironment (TME) performs a crucial function in the tumorigenesis and response to immunotherapies of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). However, a lack of recognized pre-clinical TME-based risk models poses a great challenge to investigating the risk factors correlated with prognosis and treatment responses for patients with ccRCC.
Methods: Stromal and immune contexture were assessed to calculate the TMErisk score of a large sample of patients with ccRCC from public and real-world cohorts using machine-learning algorithms.

Context: Somatic cell count (SCC) is used as an indicator of udder health. The log transformation of SCC is called somatic cell score (SCS).
Aim: Several QTL and genes have been identified that are associated with SCS.

Pyroptosis is a form of programmed cell death accompanied by specific inflammatory and immune responses, and it is closely related to the occurrence and progression of various cancers. However, the roles of pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) in the prognosis, treatment response, and tumor microenvironment (TME) of prostate cancer (PCa) remain to be investigated. The mRNA expression data and clinical information of PCa patients were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas database (TCGA) and the cBioPortal for Cancer Genomics website, and the 52 PRGs were obtained from the published papers.

Mastitis is an infectious disease affecting the mammary gland, leading to inflammatory reactions and to heavy economic losses due to milk production decrease. One possible way to tackle the antimicrobial resistance issue stemming from antimicrobial therapy is to select animals with a genetic resistance to this disease. Therefore, aim of this study was to analyze the genetic variability of the SNPs found in candidate genes related to mastitis resistance in Holstein Friesian bulls.

Common variable immunodeficiency and other late-onset immunodeficiencies often co-manifest with autoimmunity and lymphoproliferation. The pathogenesis of most cases is elusive, as only a minor subset harbors known monogenic germline causes. The involvement of both B and T cells is however implicated.
