The goal of the present study was to investigate the local synchronized neuronal activity in the cat visual cortex and the role of different classes of neurons in neural synchrony. Four classes of neurons were identified on the basis of electrophysiological properties of extracellular recorded cells: RS, FS, IB and FRB. It was revealed that neurons with short spikes and FRB type of activity were first engaged in synchronization. The model study revealed that neurons with the short action potential had more stable synchronized activity.

Immunotherapy is a promising cancer treatment, but its application is hindered by tumors' low immunogenicity and the difficulty of immune cell infiltration. Here, to address above issues and achieve targeted tumor treatment, we designed the first activated small molecule photosensitizer immune-prodrug HDIM based on pyroptosis, and proposed a self-amplified immune therapy strategy (SITS) for enhanced tumor therapy. HDIMcan be specifically activated by the tumor hypoxiaand then simultaneously initiate immuno-therapy and photodynamic therapy (PDT)-induced pyroptosis with NIR laser irradiation.

Activation of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) elicits negative effects on the reproductive system in mammals. Omega-3 (n-3) fatty acid (FA) supplementation lowers ECS activation and has anti-inflammatory effects. Thus, we hypothesized that supplementing cows with n-3 FA will downregulate components of the ECS and immune system in preovulatory follicles and in the endometrium.

In mammals, lactation is essential for the health and growth of infants and supports the formation of the mother-infant bond. Breastfeeding is mediated by the neurohormone oxytocin (OT), which is released into the bloodstream in a pulsatile manner from OT neurons in the hypothalamus to promote milk ejection into mammary ducts. While classical studies using anesthetized rats have illuminated the activity patterns of putative OT neurons during breastfeeding, the molecular, cellular, and neural circuit mechanisms driving the synchronous pulsatile bursts of OT neurons in response to nipple stimulation remain largely elusive.

Unlabelled: The integration of auditory and visual stimuli is essential for effective language processing and social perception. The present study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying audio-visual (A-V) integration by investigating the temporal dynamics of multisensory regions in the human brain. Specifically, we evaluated inter-trial coherence (ITC), a neural index indicative of phase resetting, through scalp electroencephalography (EEG) while participants performed a temporal-order judgment task that involved auditory (beep, A) and visual (flash, V) stimuli.

Objective: To analyze existing literature on virtual exercise interventions delivered to people with disabilities to assess effectiveness, efficiency, usability, satisfaction, and feasibility, and describe current trends that aimed to improve health outcomes among people with disabilities.
Data Sources: CINAHL, MEDLINE, and PsycINFO were searched.
Study Selection: Articles were included if they were (1) incorporated a virtual exercise intervention including people with physical disabilities and mobility limitations aged 18 years and older and (2) published between the years of 2009-August 14, 2024 with free access to full-text, peer-reviewed papers; and (3) published in English.
