Use of gray values in CBCT and MSCT images for determination of density: influence of variation of FOV size.

Purpose: To determine the effect of field of view (FOV) size on gray values in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and multislice computed tomography (MSCT) images.

Material And Methods: A phantom made up of 3 cylinders containing distilled water, plaster, and motor oil was constructed and inserted into an acrylic cylinder filled with distilled water. The phantom was scanned with a CBCT and MSCT device using 3 FOV sizes. Gray value of each material was evaluated in 40 axial slices, and the comparison between the results obtained with the same FOV size was made.

Results: In CBCT examinations, there was significant difference between the gray values of different FOVs for the 3 materials. In the MSCT, there was significant difference for the oil. Gray values showed significant difference between the CBCT and MSCT examinations for the 3 materials in the 3 different FOV sizes.

Conclusions: Gray values determined in CBCT images are significantly influenced by the FOV size. Although the gray values obtained in MSCT have shown statistically significant differences between some acquisitions, the analysis of those differences seems to indicate low clinical relevance.

According to the physical characteristics of cotton and the work characteristics of cotton pickers in the field, during the picking process, there is a risk of cotton combustion. The cotton picker working environment is complex, cotton ignition can be hidden, and fire is difficult to detect. Therefore, in this study, we designed an improved algorithm for multi-sensor data fusion; built a cotton picker fire detection system by using infrared temperature sensors, CO sensors, and the upper computer; and proposed a BP neural network model based on improved mutation operator hybrid gray wolf optimizer and particle swarm optimization (MGWO-PSO) algorithm based on the BP neural network model.

: The aim of the present study was to establish a cut-off value of the Lipid Layer Pattern (LLP) between participants with different subtypes of Dry Eye Disease (DED) including Deficient Dry Eye (ADDE), Evaporative Dry Eye (EDE), and Mixed Dry Eye (MDE). : 240 participants diagnosed with DED according to the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society in the Dry Eye Workshop II guidelines were included in the study. Tear Meniscus Height (TMH) using the Tearscope illumination and Meibomian Gland Loss Area (MGLA) using the Keratograph 5M were assessed to categorize the participants into an ADDE group, EDE group, or MDE group.
