The high yttria content of a stabilized zirconia (YSZ) (38 wt% YO) coating was deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) from Metco 207 powders on an Inconel 718 (Ni-based superalloy) substrate. As a metal coating connection, a layer of cermet powder (Ni-20% Al-410NS) was used before the ceramic layer deposition. The electro-chemical corrosion resistance of these materials was tested using Inconel cylinders with a diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 1 mm, with and without the ceramic layer.

In the health monitoring and safety assessments of concrete structures, ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT) technology has become an indispensable tool due to its non-destructive nature, efficiency, and precision. However, when used in inspecting irregular concrete surfaces, traditional planar ultrasonic transducers often encounter energy loss and signal attenuation induced by poor interface coupling, which significantly reduces the accuracy and reliability of the test results. To address this problem, this article proposes a point-contact dry coupling ultrasonic transducer solution, which enables efficient acquisition of ultrasonic signals within concrete without the need for couplants.

Antimonide laser diodes, with their high performance above room temperature, exhibit significant potential for widespread applications in the mid-infrared spectral region. However, the laser's performance significantly degrades as the emission wavelength increases, primarily due to severe quantum-well hole leakage and significant non-radiative recombination. In this paper, we put up an active region with a high valence band offset and excellent crystalline quality with high luminescence to improve the laser's performance.

The widely available options of different manufacturers in dental implant systems have complicated the selection criteria process for periodontists, necessitating careful consideration of various factors when selecting suitable solutions for individual patient needs. Optimal implant selection requires careful consideration of the patient-specific factors, implant design, and surgical technique. Understanding the biomechanical behavior of implant-tissue interactions is crucial for achieving successful and long-lasting implant therapy.

Results of scientific work in chemistry can usually be obtained in the form of materials and data. A big step towards transparency and reproducibility of the scientific work can be gained if scientists publish their data in research data repositories in a FAIR manner. Nevertheless, in order to make chemistry a sustainable discipline, obtaining FAIR data is insufficient and a comprehensive concept that includes preservation of materials is needed.
