Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2, also known as ERBB2) signaling promotes cell growth and differentiation, and is overexpressed in several tumor types, including breast, gastric and colorectal cancer. HER2-targeted therapies have shown clinical activity against these tumor types, resulting in regulatory approvals. However, the efficacy of HER2 therapies in tumors with HER2 mutations has not been widely investigated.

A scientific manuscript or paper is invariably the ultimate goal of most scientific endeavors and in a majority of cases, the final manuscript often begins as an abstract submitted to a conference to be presented as either a poster or an oral presentation. It is practically possible for authors to use a conference presentation as a basic template to expand and write a complete manuscript. However, it is imperative for authors to acknowledge the limitations of these abstracts and make attempts to improve the quality of work before embarking on writing a full-length manuscript.

Gastric cancer is common globally and has a generally poor prognosis with a low 5-year survival rate. The machine perfusion (MP) of transplantable grafts has emerged as an upcoming field in Cardiothoracic (CT) transplantation during the last decade. This technology carries the potential to assess, preserve, and even recondition thoracic grafts before transplantation, so it is a possible game-changer in the field. This technology field has reached a critical turning point, with a growing number of publications coming predominantly from a few leading institutions, but still need solid scientific evidence.

Objective: To identify a) interruptions (secondary activities disrupting the workflow of the main task) occurring during case discussions in multidisciplinary tumor conferences (MTCs) with patient participation, and b) observable reactions among patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs).
Methods: Within the non-interventional mixed-methods study PINTU, we video-recorded five case discussions during MTCs with patient participation at one breast and gynecological cancer center. A qualitative sequential video interaction analysis was used to identify interruptions and related interactions.
