Vulvar Lichen Sclerosus (VLS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that often leads to vulvodynia, a debilitating chronic pain condition in the vulvar region. Treating vulvodynia in the context of VLS presents a significant therapeutic challenge due to the lack of standardized protocols. This article presents a case series of 20 women treated with amitriptyline for vulvodynia secondary to VLS, accompanied by an extended review of the literature.

Background: The early integration of a specialist palliative care team is demonstrated to have numerous benefits for patients. These extend beyond end-of-life care to include reducing depressive symptoms, improving quality of life and reducing unnecessary interventions.

Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is a delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction that presents as a pruritic eczematous rash occurring 24 to 48 h after allergen exposure. It is a surgical complication that can impact people's quality of life after plastic surgeries. A 44-year-old female with right breast cancer presented with three recurrent episodes of severe pruritic cutaneous eczematous eruption over her right breast extending down to her trunk and vulva each time soon after her multiple breast surgeries.

In addition to being associated with the autism and schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mutations in the L1CAM family of genes also underlie distinct developmental syndromes with neurological conditions, such as intellectual disability, spastic paraplegia, hypotonia and congenital hydrocephalus. Studies in both vertebrate and invertebrate model organisms have established conserved neurodevelopmental roles for L1CAMs; these include axon guidance, dendrite morphogenesis, synaptogenesis, and maintenance of neural architecture, among others.
