Background: Gorham-Stout disease (GSD) is a rare disease characterized by osteolysis and lymphatic malformations. GSD involving the spine is exceptionally rare and lacks a standard cure. The aim of this article was to report a case of GSD with scoliosis treated via corrective surgery and medication.

Purpose: Adjacent disc degeneration (ADD) is a common postoperative complication after percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). However, risk factors for ADD after PKP have not been reported. This study aimed to determine whether osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) following PKP is associated with a high risk for ADD and to identify the risk factors for ADD.

Background And Objective: The finite element method is widely used for studying the intervertebral disc at the organ level due to its ability to model complex geometries. An indispensable requirement for proper modelling of the intervertebral disc is a reliable porohyperelastic framework that captures the elaborate underlying mechanics. The increased complexity of such models requires significant computational power that is available within high-performance computing systems.
