The hydrodynamic part of the velocity autocorrelation function of a granular fluid in the homogeneous cooling state has been calculated by using mode-coupling theory for a finite system with periodic boundary conditions. The existence of the shearing instability, leading to a divergent behavior of the velocity flow fluctuations, is taken into account. A time region in which the velocity autocorrelation function exhibits a power-law decay, when time is measured by the number of collisions per particle, has been been identified. Also the explicit form of the exponential asymptotic long time decay has been obtained. The theoretical prediction for the power-law decay is compared with molecular dynamics simulation results, and a good agreement is found, after taking into account finite size corrections. The effects of approaching the shearing instability are also explored.

Quantum entanglement uncovers the essential principles of quantum matter, yet determining its structure in realistic many-body systems poses significant challenges. Here, we employ a protocol, dubbed entanglement microscopy, to reveal the multipartite entanglement encoded in the full reduced density matrix of the microscopic subregion in spin and fermionic many-body systems. We exemplify our method by studying the phase diagram near quantum critical points (QCP) in 2 spatial dimensions: the transverse field Ising model and a Gross-Neveu-Yukawa transition of Dirac fermions.

We investigate the aging properties of phase-separation kinetics following quenches from T=∞ to a finite temperature below T_{c} of the paradigmatic two-dimensional conserved Ising model with power-law decaying long-range interactions ∼r^{-(2+σ)}. Physical aging with a power-law decay of the two-time autocorrelation function C(t,t_{w})∼(t/t_{w})^{-λ/z} is observed, displaying a complex dependence of the autocorrelation exponent λ on σ. A value of λ=3.

For the clarification of dynamics of photogenerated carriers in practical organic solar cell devices, we have developed a methodology to simultaneously acquire reflection-mode transient optical absorption (ΔA) and transient electric current (Δi) signals. For a typical polythiophene:fullerene bulk heterojunction solar cell device, both the ΔA and Δi signals due to the photogenerated carriers are characterized by the power-law decays of ∝t-α, which are interpreted by detrapping-limited recombination at earlier times than ∼1 μs and trap-free diffusion/drift at later times. Furthermore, we have succeeded in observing switching of the power index α for ΔA signals as well as for Δi signals; the time at which switching occurs indicates the extraction of carriers by electrodes (transit times).

The dynamics of initial long-wavelength excitations of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou chain has been the subject of intense investigations since the pioneering work of Fermi and collaborators. We have recently found a regime where the spectrum of the Fourier modes decays with a power law and we have interpreted this regime as a transient turbulence associated with the Burgers equation. In this paper we present the full derivation of the latter equation from the lattice dynamics using an infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian perturbation theory.

We study Ruelle-Pollicott resonances in translationally invariant quantum many-body lattice systems via spectra of a momentum-resolved operator propagator on infinite systems. Momentum dependence gives insight into the decay of correlation functions, showing that, depending on their symmetries, different correlation functions in general decay with different rates. Focusing on the kicked Ising model, the spectrum seems to be typically composed of an annular random matrix-like ring whose size we theoretically predict, and few isolated resonances.
