Use of desalinated seawater in arid and semiarid regions for domestic, industrial, and agricultural purposes is on the rise. Consequently, in those regions, drinking water offered to lactating cows has lower salinity and mineral concentrations than in the past. Although water with total dissolved solids (TDSs) of up to 1 000 ppm is considered safe for drinking, lower salinity level may affect rumen physiology, feed and water intake, or milk yield.

Considering the widespread use of PHEVs in advanced societies and the issues ahead, researchers' thinking has focused more on this issue. The important issue is that the use of EVs is increasing due to the advantages, but the necessary infrastructure for their charging stations in the distribution networks does not exist. The high penetration level of EVs can create a potential risk for the existing distribution network; the fair charging of EVs has a special value.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Sigmoid vaginoplasty is a safe and acceptable procedure for vaginal agenesis with good cosmetic results and acceptable complications rate. Sigmoid colon vaginoplasty is the treatment of choice because of its large lumen, thick walls resistant to trauma, adequate secretion allowing lubrication, not necessitating prolonged dilatation, and short recovery time. We investigate the feasibility, safety, and clinical therapeutic effect of laparoscopic sigmoid vaginoplasty in women with Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome.

The CRISPR-Cas9 system for genome editing has revolutionized gene function studies in mammalian cells, including stem cells. However, the practical application of this technique, particularly in pluripotent stem cells, presents certain challenges, such as being time- and labor-intensive and having low editing efficiency. Here, we describe the generation of a CRISPR-mediated gene knockout in a human embryonic stem cell (hESC) line stably expressing sgRNAs for the L2HGDH gene, using a highly efficient and stable lentiviral-mediated gene delivery system.

Triatomines (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) are hematophagous insects that transmit Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiological agent for Chagas disease, to humans and other mammals. As medically important vectors, species such as Rhodnius prolixus (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) have long been used as a model organism for physiological studies. Laboratory rearing of triatomines is needed to support vector and parasite research.
