A kind of mesoporous hybrid luminescence material was assembled through the ion exchange method between [Ln(DPA)3](3-) and ionic liquid functionalized SBA-15. [Ln(DPA)3](3-) was successfully anchored onto positive-charge modified SBA-15 by the strong electrostatic interaction. In [Ln(DPA)3](3-), Ln(3+) ions are in 9-fold coordination through six oxygen atoms of carboxyl groups and three nitrogen atoms of pyridine units, leaving no coordination site for water molecules. Therefore the hybrids possess prominent luminescent properties, SBA-15-IMI-Tb(DPA)3 and SBA-15-IMI-Eu(DPA)3 exhibit high quantum yield values of 63% and 79%, and long lifetimes values of 2.38 ms and 2.34 ms, respectively. Especially, SBA-15-IMI-Eu(DPA)3 presents a high color purity, and the red/orange intensity ratio is as high as 7.6. The excellent luminescence properties and ordered mesoporous structures give rise to many potential applications in optical and electronic areas.

Polyethers are versatile materials extensively used in advanced as well as everyday applications. The incorporation of primary amine functionality into polyethers is particularly attractive due to its well-established coupling chemistries. However, the inherent nucleophilicity of amine group poses a challenge in the anionic ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of epoxides and requires the use of robust protecting groups that can withstand the harsh conditions of ROP without triggering undesirable side reactions.

The reaction-based probe perylene diimide-hydroxyphenyl benzothiazole (PR) can be used for the detection and discrimination of HS, DTT and Cys in 20% HEPES buffer-DMSO and DMSO. The HS induced radical anion formation of PR in 20% HEPES buffer and thiolysis of the ether bond of PR in DMSO. However, the addition of DTT showed only a decrease in the absorbance intensity and Cys showed insignificant behaviour towards PR in DMSO.

Background: β-lactoglobulin (β-Lg), a major allergen in dairy products, can trigger severe allergic reactions and even fatal outcomes in infants. In this work, we develop a new low background current redox recycling strategy by conjugating the electrochemical mediator to trimetallic hybrid nanoparticles (NPs)-dispersed graphene as the signal tag, which is coupled with DNAzyme amplifications to construct highly catalytic and ultrasensitive β-Lg aptasensor.
Results: Target β-Lg molecules bind aptamers in DNAzyme/aptamer duplexes to release active DNAzymes to initiate cyclic cleavage of hairpin substrates.

Background: Drug enantiomers often display distinguishable or even opposite pharmacological and toxicologic activities. Therefore it is of great necessity to discriminate enantiomers for guaranteeing safetyness and effectiveness of chiral drugs. Facile chiral discrimination has long been a noticeable challenge because of the minimal differences in physicochemical properties of enantiomers.

Two novel nitrogen hybrid fluorescent sensors based on the ESIPT mechanism were successfully synthesized for the detection of fluoride ions (F), and they exhibit high sensitivity and selectivity with a fast response. The detection limits even reach the parts per billion level. With the addition of F, both sensors showed a ratiometric fluorescence change with a large Stokes shift.
