Department of Orthopaedics, Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Case: A 36-year-old, 7-month pregnant woman presented to the office with a locked knee and a displaced bucket-handle medial meniscus tear, in the setting of chronic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) insufficiency. After thorough discussion with the patient and her husband, the obstetrician, and the anesthesiologist, the patient was treated with left knee ACL reconstruction and medial meniscus repair.
Conclusion: With sufficient preoperative planning and coordinated multidisciplinary care among orthopaedic, anesthesiologist, and obstetric specialists, elective knee surgery can be performed safely in time-sensitive situations during pregnancy.
Trauma Case Rep

Section of Acute Care Surgery, Department of Surgery, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA.
We present the case of a previously healthy 29-year-old male who presented with a small bowel obstruction in the absence of previous abdominal surgery who was found to have evidence of an occult seatbeltabrasion and ultimately multifocal hollow viscus injury secondary to blunt abdominal trauma at the time of exploratory laparotomy. Hollow viscus injury is a rare, but potentially life-threatening, complication of blunt abdominal trauma. While cross-sectional imaging is an important diagnostic tool, results must be considered within a patient's clinical context as delays in surgical management can lead to significant morbidity and mortality.

Objectives: The risk factors for anastomotic leak (AL) after resection and primary anastomosis for traumatic bucket handle injury (BHI) have not been previously defined. This multicenter study was conducted to address this knowledge gap.
Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective study on small intestine and colonic BHIs from blunt trauma between 2010 and 2021.

Importance: Approximately 5% of all primary care visits in adults are related to knee pain. Osteoarthritis (OA), patellofemoral pain, and meniscal tears are among the most common causes of knee pain.
Observations: Knee OA, affecting an estimated 654 million people worldwide, is the most likely diagnosis of knee pain in patients aged 45 years or older who present with activity-related knee joint pain with no or less than 30 minutes of morning stiffness (95% sensitivity; 69% specificity).

Introduction: Soft tissue loss following total knee arthroplasty can result in catastrophic complications. Defects can be covered using various flaps and grafts, including fasciocutaneous flaps. Here, we discuss one case of double bipedicled "bucket-handle" local advancement flaps used for a nonhealing midline knee dehiscence wound following total knee arthroplasty.
