There is limited information on activity levels of patients with reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA). We conducted a study of the types of sporting activities in which 78 patients with RTSA could participate. Mean follow-up was 4.8 years. Mean (SD) age at surgery was 75.3 (7.5) years. Seventy-five percent of the patients were women. Sixty-one percent underwent surgery for cuff tear arthropathy, 31% for revision of previous arthroplasty or internal fixation, 7% for complex fractures, and 1% for tumor. Mean (SD) postoperative ASES (American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons) Standardized Shoulder Assessment Form score was 77.5 (23.4). After surgery, mean active forward elevation was 140°, mean external rotation was 48°, and mean internal rotation was to S1. Four patients played golf; none were able to play tennis. Eighteen patients (23.1%) engaged in 24 high-intensity activities, such as hunting, golf, and skiing; 48.7% engaged in moderate-intensity activities, such as swimming, bowling, and raking leaves; and 28.2% engaged only in low-intensity activities. Regarding reasons for their limited activity, 59% of the patients cited medical problems, 19.2% cited shoulder limitations, 2.5% cited fear of injury, and 19.2% reported not being limited. RTSA results in good pain relief and motion, with a variety of postoperative overhead activities enjoyed by some patients who are not limited by comorbidities.

This research presents a method based on deep learning for the reverse design of sound-absorbing structures. Traditional methods require time-consuming individual numerical simulations followed by cumbersome calculations, whereas the deep learning design method significantly simplifies the design process, achieving efficient and rapid design objectives. By utilizing deep neural networks, a mapping relationship between structural parameters and the sound absorption coefficient curve is established.

Background And Objective: Utilizing AI to mine tumor microenvironment information in whole slide images (WSIs) for glioma molecular subtype and prognosis prediction is significant for treatment. Existing weakly-supervised learning frameworks based on multi-instance learning have potential in WSIs analysis, but the large number of patches from WSIs challenges the effective extraction of key local patch and neighboring patch microenvironment info. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an automatic neural network that effectively extracts tumor microenvironment information from WSIs to predict molecular typing and prognosis of glioma.

In 2023, we published a case study involving a 10-year-old HIV-1-infected child with low-level viremia (LLV). We showed that this child patient achieved successful viral suppression by modifying the antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimen according to the HIV-1 DNA genotypic drug resistance testing. In this study, we aimed to address whether HIV-1 DNA genotypic drug resistance testing could direct successfully virological suppression in HIV-1-infected patients experiencing persistent LLV based on evidence from a cohort study.

Numerous cities in the Russian Federation have joined the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global Network for Age-Friendly Cities and Communities since 2011. In order to do quantitative evaluations of the age-friendliness of cities, the Age-Friendly Cities and Communities Questionnaire (AFCCQ) was developed in the Netherlands. The purpose of this study was to translate and test the validity and reliability of the AFCCQ for use in the Russian Federation, and to study the views on the age-friendliness of the city of Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan from an intergenerational perspective.
