Introduction: There is a demand for intraoperative diagnostic support and image guidance in oncological surgery. Novel techniques can provide images similar to histopathological slides within a few minutes. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and full-field OCT (FF-OCT) provide images with resolution greater than a hundred micrometers without the need for exogenous contrast agents or specimen staining.

The 'Best of ESGO 2024' article includes a selection of the most highly rated original research presented during the 25th Annual Congress of the European Society of Gynaecologic Oncology (ESGO), held in Barcelona, Spain, March 7-10, 2024. Of 1218 asbtracts submitted, 35 studies presented during the best oral sessions, mini oral sessions, best three minute presentations session, and young investigator session were selected by the ESGO abstract committee and the authors of the European Network of Young Gynae Oncologists (ENYGO). There was a strong focus on the surgical treatment of early stage cervical cancer and the management of advanced or recurrent gynecological cancers using induction therapy, immunotherapy, and maintenance therapy.

Background: The Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QuERI) in adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) was developed to improve detection of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) after repair of systemic-to-pulmonary arterial shunt lesions.
Objectives: This study sought to standardize use of accepted criteria for PAH diagnosis and evaluate utility in at-risk patients with ACHD.
Methods: Patients ≥18 years of age with ACHD repaired ≥1 year before enrollment and with additional risk factors for developing PAH were eligible.

A new method for a fast molecular profiling of olive oil unsaponifiable fraction has been developed. This approach, based on paper spray mass spectrometry, allows obtaining MS data with only a few minutes of analysis and without significant solvent and disposable consumption. Tandem mass spectrometry and high-resolution mass spectrometry experiments have been performed to identify the main ions detected.

Purpose: Heart rate variability (HRV) is a promising prognostic biomarker in Dravet Syndrome (DS), but different studies are not always comparable, limiting its clinical application. In fact, multiple HRV parameters, analyzed over different timescales and in different states are reported. The aim of this study was to assess which HRV parameter is more reproducible and clinically significant, analyzing differences between wake and sleep.
