Objective: To develop electrically evoked auditory brainstem response(EABR) modules of REZ-I domestic cochlear implant device, and testify the reliability and validity of the modules.
Methods: Postoperative EABR were recorded in guinea pigs by using the self-designed EABR module.
Results: EABR waves were recorded in all 15 ears of 9 guinea pigs with normal hearing. The threshold was (159.00 ± 50.21) current level (CL) and eIII wave latency was (2.36 ± 0.46) ms of 100 µs pulse width stimulation; for 150 µs pulse width stimulation, the threshold was (131.44 ± 49.25) CL and eIII wave latency was (2.59 ± 0.46)ms; for 200 µs pulse width stimulation, the threshold was (119.63 ± 52.56) CL and e III wave latency was (2.62 ± 0.44)ms.
Conclusion: According the preliminary results of the study, the reliability and stability of the EABR modules of domestic cochlear implant device can meet the demands of EABR recording.

Background: Follow-up of cochlear implant effectiveness is mainly focused on 3 years postoperatively, and studies with more than 5 years of observation are rare, especially for local Chinese brands.
Objectives: Nurotron (Chinese domestic cochlear implant brand) CI recipients who participated in the clinical trial in 2009 were followed-up for 10 years prospectively, providing data to guide doctors and patients.
Material And Methods: From December 2009 to April 2010, 57 subjects underwent Nurotron Venus CI surgery at multiple-centers, and were continued to be followed up and assessed at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 years after switch on.

One major obstacle in validating drugs for the treatment or prevention of hearing loss is the limited data available on the distribution and concentration of drugs in the human inner ear. Although small animal models offer some insights into inner ear pharmacokinetics, their smaller organ size and different barrier (round window membrane) permeabilities compared to humans can complicate study interpretation. Therefore, developing a reliable large animal model for inner ear drug delivery is crucial.
