  • The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Gushenyutai plaster applied at the Guanyuan acupoint on treating male infertility linked to semen non-liquefaction.
  • Sixty-two male patients were divided into a treatment group receiving Gushenyutai plaster along with standard therapy and a control group receiving only standard therapy for 8 weeks.
  • Results showed that the treatment group had a significantly higher effective rate (96.77% vs 70.97%) and pregnancy rates (38.71% vs 16.13%) compared to the control group, indicating Gushenyutai plaster's added benefits.

Article Abstract

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Gushenyutai plaster administered at the Guanyuan (CV 4) acupoint on male infertility associated with semen non-liquefaction.

Methods: Sixty-two male patients with infertility caused by semen non-liquefaction were randomized into a treatment and control group. The control group received comprehensive therapy, which included oral administration of clarithromycin sustained release tablets, hip bath with Zhongyaoxiaoyan granules, prostate massage, and transurethral microwave treatment. The treatment group was administered Gushenyutai plaster in addition to the comprehensive therapy. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. After treatment, the clinical effect and pregnancy rate were assessed and compared between the two groups.

Results: The effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (96.77% vs 70.97%, P < 0.05) and the pregnancy rates of the treatment group and control groups were 38.71% and 16.13%, respectively (P < 0.05).

Conclusion: The effect of Gushenyutai plaster plus comprehensive therapy was better than that of the comprehensive therapy alone on male infertility induced by semen non-liquefaction.

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is highly prevalent and disabling, especially in agriculture sectors. However, there is a gap in LBP prevention and intervention studies in these physically demanding occupations, and to date, no studies have focused on horticulture workers. Given the challenges of implementing interventions for those working in small businesses, self-management offers an attractive and feasible option to address work-related risk factors and manage LBP.

Objectives: CD19-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy can induce long-term drug-free remission in patients with autoimmune diseases (AIDs). The efficacy of CD19-CAR T-cell therapy is presumably based on deep tissue depletion of B cells; however, such effect has not been proven in humans in vivo.

Methods: Sequential ultrasound-guided inguinal lymph node biopsies were performed at baseline and after CD19-CAR T-cell therapy in patients with AIDs.
