Introduction: In recent years, with the frequent occurrence of public health emergencies, various infectious diseases and natural disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis, and fires have placed a burden on global public health and health care systems, especially on health care workers. This study aimed to investigate the current state of psychological capital among disaster care reservists and the factors influencing it.
Methods: Between January and February 2024, a total of 330 members of the disaster nursing reserve team from 4 tertiary general hospitals in Mianyang, China, were surveyed using an online platform named Wenjuanxing to obtain information on general demographics, psychological capital, and job burnout.

Problem: The undersea Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano erupted on 15 January 2022, causing a tsunami that affected Tonga as well as other countries around the Pacific rim. Tonga's international borders were closed at the time due to the coronavirus disease pandemic, but clinical surge support was needed to respond to this disaster.
Context: Tonga's Ministry of Health formed the Tonga Emergency Medical Assistance Team (TEMAT) in 2018 to provide clinical care and public health assistance during disasters, outbreaks and other health emergencies.

The earthquakes that occurred in February 2023 in Türkiye had some of the worst consequences of recent years. The Turkish authorities first deployed local resources and then appealed for international help. The International Search and Rescue Group of the United Nations aims to establish minimum international standards for search and rescue teams and a methodology for coordinating responses to earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters.
