The discovery of the phenomena known as localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has provided the basis for many research areas, ranging from materials science to biosensing. LSPR has since been viewed as a transduction platform that could yield affordable, portable devices for a multitude of applications. This review aims to outline the potential applications within developing countries and the challenges that are likely to be faced before the technology can be effectively employed.

Quantitative evaluation of pediatric craniofacial anomalies relies on the accurate identification of anatomical landmarks and structures. While segmentation and landmark detection methods in standard clinical images are available in the literature, image-based methods are not directly applicable to 3D photogrammetry because of its unstructured nature consisting in variable numbers of vertices and polygons. In this work, we propose a graph-based convolutional neural network based on Chebyshev polynomials that exploits vertex coordinates, polygonal connectivity, and surface normal vectors to extract multi-resolution spatial features from the 3D photographs.

Background: Intradermal injection of CPM-HA20G, a low-viscoelasticity hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler with glycerol, has been shown to be effective for facial rejuvenation in Caucasians, but research in Asians is limited.
Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of CPM-HA20G in enhancing facial skin quality in Korean women using a protocol developed by local aesthetic experts.
Patients/methods: In this 24-week prospective, single-arm, open-label study, 20 women received CPM-HA20G injections in the immediate subdermal layer on the anterior cheek (1 mL per side; total 2 mL) in three sessions every 4 weeks.
