The personality and the achievements of Professor Dr. Félicien M. Steichen, who was born in Luxembourg (10.13.1926) and died in Brignogan-Plages, France (6.27.2011) are brought into focus. He will be remembered above all for his contributions to stapling in thoracic and abdominal surgery and to minimally invasive surgery.
