Methylene blue is utilized as the main treatment of methemoglobinemia. Here we report two cases, in which patient suffered from aniline-induced methemoglobinemia with initial good response but later developed haemolytic anemia due to methylene blue therapy. He was treated with hydration, high flow oxygen and steroid therapy. Caution should be exercised while using methylene blue as antidote of acute methemoglobinemia as both methemoglobinemia and its antidote methylene blue can itself precipitate fatal haemolytic anemia.

Objectives: In this study, the spread of methylene blue was compared between an ultrasound-guided Pericapsular Nerve Group (PENG) block and a double injection technique, where the approach towards the inferomedial acetabulum was added to the latter.
Methods: The two techniques were performed in 11 fresh frozen cadavers. The spread was measured after anatomical dissection in which the supplying femoral and obturator nerves were identified.
The current investigation focuses on synthesizing Ag-Fe bimetallic nanoparticles (AgFe-BMNPs) using cell-free filtrates of the as a novel fungal reducing agent. The optical, morphological, and surface properties of these fungus-fabricated AgFe-BMNPs and their monometallic counterparts (AgNPs and FeNPs) were analyzed using sophisticated nanotechnology instruments. The UV-visible spectrum showed peaks at 231 nm and 415 nm for BMNPs and 450 nm and 386 nm for AgNPs and FeNPs, respectively.

The study focused on converting tea bag waste into strong fluorescence carbon quantum dots (TBW-CQDs) for the detection of acrylamide in drinking water, antimicrobial activity, and photocatalytic degradation. The TBW-CQDs exhibited blue luminescence and maximum absorbance at 287 nm under UV light and distinctive fluorescence emission and excitation wavelengths at 425 nm and 287 nm, respectively. TBW-CQDs revealed a particle size of 8.

This work analyzes the production of a hydrogel composed of mucilage from the cactus (OFI) and sodium alginate. In obtaining the new material, green synthesis was used, free of chemical compounds, and applied in the treatment of textile effluent for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). The hydrogel was characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, and zeta potential.

Cellulose-based materials are promising adsorbents for pollutants and other classes of compounds. Here, we report the preparation of hydrogels via chemical cross-linking of microcrystalline cellulose oxidized by the 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical (TEMPO). The cross-linking process was carried out in the presence of modifiers such as β-cyclodextrin in order to insert hydrophobic cavities or κ-carrageenan due to the presence of negative charges along the molecular chains.
