The total mass attenuation coefficients (μ t ) (cm(2)/g) and atomic, molecular, and electronic effective cross sections have been calculated for nonessential amino acids that contain H, C, N, and O such as tyrosine, aspartate, glutamine, alanine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, and glycine in the wide energy region 0.015-15 MeV. The variations with energy of total mass attenuation coefficients and atomic, molecular, and electronic cross sections are shown for all photon interactions.

Background: This study examines the influence of prematurity and diabetes (DM) in pregnancy on metabolite patterns at birth, and associations with adiposity development in a prospective cohort.
Methods: Term and preterm (30-36 weeks gestational age [GA]) infants were enrolled and body composition assessments completed through discharge. Targeted metabolomics was used to assess metabolites in cord or infant blood in the first 2 days.

Background: Ferroptosis is a recently studied form of programmed cell death characterized by lipid peroxides accumulation in the cells. This process occurs when a cell's antioxidant capacity is disturbed resulting in the inability of the cell to detoxify the toxic peroxides. Two major components that regulate ferroptosis are cysteine and iron.

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a global health issue characterized by abnormal blood glucose levels and is often associated with excessive hepatic gluconeogenesis. Increased circulating non-essential amino acids (NEAAs) are consistently observed in individuals with T2D; however, the specific contribution of each amino acid to T2D pathogenesis remains less understood. Here, we report an unexpected role of the NEAA proline in coordinating hepatic glucose metabolism by modulating paraspeckle, a nuclear structure scaffolded by the long non-coding RNA Neat1.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to improve the economic value of the processed by-products of farmed miiuy croaker () by evaluating the nutrient composition and osteogenic activity of its bones. We prepared bone peptides (MMBP) and analyzed their osteogenic potential.
Methods: We assessed the osteogenic activity of MMBP by molecular docking, MC3T3-E1 cell proliferation assay and zebrafish growth model, and evaluated its effect on osteoporosis (OP) using a retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis rat model.

In this study we used an ex model to assess the effect of feeding older (50 - 70 y) adults a casein protein hydrolysate (CPH) compared with non-bioactive non-essential amino acid (NEAA) supplement on muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and markers of muscle protein breakdown (MPB). As a secondary objective, to assess any attenuation with aging, we compared the anabolic response to CPH-fed serum from older and young adults. Serum from seven healthy older and seven young men following overnight fast and 60 min postprandial ingestion of CPH or NEAA (0.
