Pharmaceutical excipients need careful observation as they play a significant role in treatment outcomes. It is imperative for a physician to collect complete patient profile before prescribing new medications for current treatment. We present a case report on the significance of pharmaceutical excipients in prescribed medicines.

Micronization is frequently employed to increase the dissolution of poorly soluble drugs, but it easily led to powder aggregation and difficult to mix well on the micro level with poor content uniformity and erratic dissolution behavior. Mannitol is the most commonly used pharmaceutical excipient, and its β form (β-mannitol) is commercially available and extensively investigated, whereas form α (α-mannitol) remain poorly understood. Here, this study demonstrated that α-mannitol could significantly eliminate aggregation phenomena of micronized drugs (i.

Despite significant advances in targeted therapies and immunotherapies, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) continues to present a global health challenge, with a modest five-year survival rate of 28 %, largely due to the emergence of treatment-resistant and metastatic tumors. In response, we synthesized a novel bioactive compound, ethyl 6-chlorocoumarin-3-carboxylyl L-theanine (TClC), which significantly inhibited NSCLC growth, epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT), migration, and invasion and tumor growth and metastasis without inducing toxicity. TClC disrupts autocrine loops that promote tumor progression, particularly in stem-like CD133-positive NSCLC (CD133+ LC) cells, which are pivotal in tumor metastasis.

Small, stable biomedicines, like peptides and hormones, are already available on the market as spray dried formulations, however large biomolecules like antibodies and therapeutic enzymes continue to pose stability issues during the process. Stresses during solid-state formation are a barrier to formulation of large biotherapeutics as dry powders. Here, we explore an alternative avenue to protein stabilisation during the spray drying process, moving away from the use of excipients.

Background: Indomethacin (IND), classified as class 2 in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS), has emerged as an anti-inflammatory agent with low solubility and high permeability. Widely used in the treatment of various diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, this drug is well-known for its adverse effects, particularly in the stomach, and a short biological half-life, which is around 1.5-2 hours.

In the present study, the mixed micellization behavior of gemini surfactant-1, 5-bis (N-hexadecyl- N, N-dimethylammonium) pentane dibromide (G5) with non-ionic surfactant triton X-100 (TX-100) was investigated in the micellar phase by utilizing the conductometric technique. The deviation of ideal critical micelle concentration (cmc*) from experimental critical micelle concentration (cmc) has been estimated using well-known Clint's theory of mixed micelles. The regular solution approximation was used to determine the interaction parameter (β) and found to be negative.
