Syphilitic hepatitis is a rare manifestation of a sexually transmitted infection. Evans syndrome (ES) is a rare syndrome characterised by the association of autoimmune idiopathic hemolytic anemia (AIHA) with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and, less commonly, autoimmune neutropenia (AIN). ES may be primary or secondary to some aetiology, including, exceptionally, tuberculosis. We describe a case of association between pulmonary and medullary tuberculosis and Evans syndrome with an effective response to antitubercular treatment and corticosteroids.

A 40-year-old male presented with intermittent abdominal pain and a palpable lump in the right paraumbilical region.

Background: Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the middle ear is rare, with non-keratinizing basaloid types being exceptionally uncommon. Distinguishing these cancers, often caused by viral factors (, human papillomavirus or Epstein-Barr virus), or specific genetic alterations (, bromodomain-containing protein 4-nuclear protein in or gene fused with FLI chromosomal rearrangement), from other cranial conditions, is difficult. The recently identified DEK::AFF2 non-keratinizing SCC (NKSCC) is a novel subtype, fitting the World Health Organization classification of head and neck neoplasms.
