Background: Women's reproductive experiences may enact reorganization of physiological systems with lifelong health consequences. We test the hypothesis that women's history of breastfeeding will be positively associated with neurocognitive benefits in post-menopausal women. This hypothesis is justified by breastfeeding's well-established benefits for mothers' glucose homeostasis, beta-cell function, adipose tissue mobilization, and lipid metabolism, which would plausibly be beneficial for later-life brain health.

Rationale: Developing a feasible and sensitive evaluation strategy for a new mental health service is a challenge that requires consideration of what a service is trying to achieve and what a 'good' outcome might look like. Perinatal mental illnesses are complex in their causes and treatment. Mother Baby Units provide specialist perinatal mental health care to parents experiencing mental illness in the perinatal period, with evaluations demonstrating clinical and social outcomes.

Background: The Alzheimer's Disease Colombian kindred is the world's largest autosomal dominant cohort with Early Onset Familiar Alzheimer's Disease (EOAD) due to a single genetic variant. These families have been studied for decades, identifying the disease progression from early subclinical stages to late dementia stages. Such cognitive and functional decline impacts the mental and physical well-being of families and caregivers and to our knowledge, how being part of these families affects reproductive desire and contraception has not been studied.

Background: Women with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), including chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, and preeclampsia have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Current research suggests that general practitioners are unaware of women's HDP history, and although ideally placed to follow-up with these women, there is limited understanding of current CVD prevention practices in women after HDP. Additionally, preeclampsia confers a higher CVD risk compared to other types of HDP, and Australian research suggests that lower socioeconomic status (SES) is associated with a higher incidence of both HDP and CVD.
