People living with HIV (PLWH) in Canada experience high rates of interpersonal violence which may lead to adverse health outcomes that require hospitalization. Using self-reported data on experiences of violence linked to administrative health data on hospitalizations, we used Poisson regression modelling to examine and compare the associations between experiences of violence (recent [in the past 6 months], non-recent [>6 months ago], or none) and hospitalization rates, among a sample of PLWH in British Columbia, Canada. Of 984 PLWH included in this study, 60.

Background: In the realm of Evidence-Based Medicine, introduced by Gordon Guyatt in the early 1990s, the integration of machine learning technologies marks a significant advancement towards more objective, evidence-driven healthcare. Evidence-Based Medicine principles focus on using the best available scientific evidence for clinical decision-making, enhancing healthcare quality and consistency by integrating this evidence with clinician expertise and patient values. Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) have become essential in evaluating the broader impacts of treatments, especially for chronic conditions like HIV, reflecting patient health and well-being comprehensively.

Introduction: Early prognosis prediction of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) can support clinicians in choosing personalized treatment plans. The aim of this study is to develop a machine learning (ML) model that uses multiple post-labeling delay times (multi-PLD) arterial spin labeling (ASL) radiomics features to achieve early and precise prediction of AIS prognosis.
Methods: This study enrolled 102 AIS patients admitted between December 2020 and September 2024.

We evaluated a couple-based intervention targeting human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) care needs of women, with the option to support HIV-related needs of male partners. Adult women with HIV adherence difficulties in a monogamous relationship with a male partner for ≥6 months were recruited in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Twenty couples were randomized (1:1) to either START Together, a five-session manualized behavioral intervention, or treatment as usual, adherence counseling referral.
