Rationale: Follicular tumors with uncertain malignant potential of the thyroid are a new classification of thyroid tumors in the World Health Organization (2017). Only a few cases of evaluating the value of ultrasound combined with pathological examination in diagnosing follicular tumors with uncertain malignant potential of the thyroid have been reported in recent decades.

Patient Concerns: A retrospective analysis was performed on 18 patients with follicular tumors with uncertain thyroid malignant potential who underwent preoperative ultrasonography and were confirmed by operation and pathology in our hospital from January 2019 to November 2024.

A Novel Method for Hemorrhage Control During Laparoscopic Distal Pancreatectomy with Splenic Vessel Preservation: Triple Occlusion.

Ann Surg Oncol

January 2025

Division of Pancreatic Surgery, Department of General Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Introduction: Laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy (LDP) has the advantages of reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and a better postoperative quality of life compared with open distal pancreatectomy (ODP). Meanwhile, spleen-preserving laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy is the preferred technique for low-grade malignant and benign tumors located in pancreatic body and tail, since it preserves the immune function of the spleen. The splenic-vessel-preserving (SVP) Kimura technique and splenic vessel resection Warshaw technique are the two primary procedures.

Immunogenic cell death (ICD) offers a promising avenue for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, optimizing immune responses remains a formidable challenge. This study presents the design of RBCm@Pt-CoNi layered double hydroxide (RmPLH), an innovative sonosensitizer for sonodynamic therapy (SDT), aimed at enhancing the efficacy of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors by inducing robust ICD responses.
