A palladium-catalyzed (3 + 2) cycloaddition of vinyl cyclopropane and α,β-unsaturated imines generated in situ from aryl sulfonyl indoles is reported. The reaction proceeds with high diastereoselectivity to provide the optically enriched spirocyclopentane-1,3'-indolenines in up to 74% yield and with up to 97% ee, which contains an all-carbon quaternary center and two tertiary stereocenters. The reaction involves a first conjugate addition of the carbon anion of zwitterionic π-allylpalladium complex from vinyl cyclopropane to the in situ formed unsaturated imine followed by a palladium-catalyzed intramolecular C3-allylation of indole.

Background: Advances in treatment have swiftly alleviated systemic inflammation of Takayasu's arteritis (TAK), while subclinical vascular inflammation and the ensuing arterial remodeling continue to present unresolved challenges in TAK. The phenotypic switching of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) is regarded as the first step in vascular pathology and contributes to arterial remodeling. Exosomes facilitate the transfer and exchange of proteins and specific nucleic acids, thereby playing a significant role in intercellular communication.

Cofacial electron donor-acceptor dyads exhibiting through-space charge-transfer (TSCT) characteristics are widely employed in the development of optoelectronic functional materials. The flexible molecular frameworks between the electron donor and acceptor components allow dynamic modulation of electronic coupling, influenced by excited-state structural relaxation or intermolecular interactions, thereby affecting the charge-transfer (CT) dynamics and the emission properties of TSCT states. In this work, we examine the TSCT dynamic processes of two electron donor-acceptor dyads, CzPhNI and CzPhPI formed by ortho-substitution of phenyl linkage with V-shaped flexible TSCT structures using carbazole as donor and naphthalimide or phthalimide as acceptor.

The application and further industrialization of magnesium hydride (MgH) are restricted by its intrinsically high de-hydrogenation temperature and dragged kinetics though it is believed as one of the most encouraging solid-state hydrogen storage materials with considerable capacity. Herein, a bimetallic layered MXene VNbC, which was mixed with MgH by high energy ball milling, was obtained by etching compact layered MAX VNbAlC with HF. The beginning de-hydrogenation temperature of the as-prepared MgH blended with 10 wt% VNbC (denoted as MgH-10 VNbC) composites was excitingly 170 °C and it exhibited faster kinetics and excellent cycling stability.

In traditional operations of all-solid-state lithium metal batteries (ASSLMBs), a small thin lithium metal circular disk is employed as a lithium metal anode (LMA). However, ASSLMBs with a circular-disk LMA often fail in <150 cycles with low capacity retention. In this work, we developed a new ring-shaped LMA to improve cyclability.

Long-term inflammation and persistent bacterial infection are primary contributors to unhealed chronic wounds. The use of conventional antibiotics often leads to bacteria drug resistance, diminishing wound healing effectiveness. Nanozymes have become a promising alternative to antimicrobial materials due to their low cost, easy synthesis, and good stability.
