Fifteen abscesses following various types of gastric surgery in 14 patients were treated by three different methods: 1. Multiple puncture under sonographic control, with complete drainage of the abscess. 2. The introduction of a catheter. 3. In the presence of a fistula, introduction of a catheter into the abscess through the fistula. Amongst the 14 patients, one had to undergo further surgery because of intestinal bleeding. In the other patients, there was complete healing without any complications or further surgery.
