Unlabelled: Migraine is a central nervous system disorder frequently expressed with paroxysmal visual dysfunctions.

Objective: To test the hypothesis that normal visual input is vital for the migrainous aura and photophobia.

Method: We studied the migraine-related visual disturbances in 8 sightless migraineurs identified among 200 visually impaired subjects.

Results: The main findings were the visual aura and photophobia disappearance along with blindness development, the oddness of aura - too short, colourful (e.g. blue or fire-like), auditory in nature or different in shape (round forms) - and the lack of photophobia.

Conclusion: We propose that the aura duration should be accepted as shorter in visually impaired subjects. The changes in aura phenotype observed in our patients may be the result of both cerebral plasticity induced by the visual impairment and/or the lack of visual input per se. Integrity of visual pathways plays a key role in migraine visual aura and photophobia.

Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) is an enzyme crucial in epigenetic regulation and protein degradation, with implications in various cancers and neurodegenerative disorders. While HDAC6 is recognized as a promising therapeutic target for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, its involvement in spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs) remains underexplored. Currently, there are no direct methods available for characterizing HDAC6 in the brains of living subjects.

The eye is considered to be an immune-privileged region. However, several parts of the eye have distinct mechanisms for delivering immune cells to the injury sites or even in response to aging. Although these immune responses are intended to be protective, the visual acuity can be compromised by the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines by immune cells, which induce chronic inflammation and fibrosis.

The central nervous system is affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic autoimmune illness characterized by axonal destruction, demyelination, and inflammation. This article summarizes the state of the field, highlighting its complexity and significant influence on people's quality of life. The research employs a network pharmacological approach, integrating systems biology, bioinformatics, and pharmacology to identify biomarkers associated with MS.

Here, we present a protocol to alter the production of alternatively spliced mRNA variants, without affecting the overall gene expression, through CRISPR-Cas9-engineered genomic mutations in mice. We describe steps for designing guide RNA to direct Cas9 endonuclease to consensus splice sites, producing transgenic mice through pronuclear injection, and screening for desired mutations in cultured mammalian cells using a minigene splicing reporter. Splice isoform-specific mouse mutants provide valuable tools for genetic analyses beyond loss-of-function and transgenic alleles.

This was an original article, mainly explored the effect of applying airbag bionic midwifery technology in vaginal delivery of scarred uterus pregnancy. Sixty patients were chosen, and divided into an intervention group (IG) and a control group (CG). The results showed that in contrast to the CG, the IG had shorter first, second and total stages of labor (P<0.
