Aim: To systematically review articles on canal centering ability of endodontic rotary cutting Nickel-Titanium (Ni-Ti) instruments and subject results to meta-analysis.
Materials And Methods: A comprehensive search was initiated on canal centering ability of different rotary cutting Ni-Ti files such as Protaper, Hero Shaper, K3, Mtwo, Race, Wave One by selecting articles published in peer reviewed journals during 1991-2013 using "Pub Med" database. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established. A data was created by tabulating: Author name, publication year, sample size, number of experimental groups, methods to evaluate canal centering ability, instrument cross section, taper, tip design, rake angle, mean and standard deviation. The data generated was subjected to meta-analysis.
Results: Maximum studies were found to be conducted on mesiobuccal canal of mandibular 1(st) molar with curvature ranging from 15-60°. The difference in canal centering ability of different rotary cutting Ni-Ti instruments was not statistically significant.
Conclusion: All endodontic rotary cutting Ni-Ti instruments are capable of producing centered preparations. Protaper depicted the best centering ability. Computed tomography is an effective method of evaluating canal centering ability.

The preservation of the original configurations of root canals during endodontic preparation is crucial for treatment success. Nickel-titanium (NiTi) rotary systems have been refined to optimize canal shaping while minimizing iatrogenic errors. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the shaping efficacy of the novel R-Motion (RM) and the established WaveOne Gold (WG) systems using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT).

BACKGROUND This cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) endodontics study aimed to compare the canal-centering ability and canal transportation of Edgefile X7 and HyFlex EDM files in moderately curved mesiobuccal (MB) root canals of 30 mandibular first permanent molar teeth. MATERIAL AND METHODS Thirty permanent mandibular first molars with 10° and 24° of mesial root curvature were selected and scanned with CBCT. Two experimental groups of 15 each were made: group I: HyFlex EDM, and group II: Edgefile X7.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess the effect of cavity designs on instrumentation, obturation and fracture resistance for mandibular first premolars with Vertucci V canal.
Methods: Mandibular first premolars with Vertucci V canal were scanned with micro-CT. 20 teeth with moderately curved canal were prepared with conservative endodontic cavity (CEC/M) or traditional endodontic cavity (TEC/M), and 30 with severely curved canal were prepared with CEC (CEC/S), modified CEC (MCEC/S) or TEC (TEC/S).

Background: Root canal shaping is an important phase in endodontic treatment to preserve the integrity of root structures. This clinical study used cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to assess the shaping ability of Tornado compared to WaveOne (WO), and OneShape (OS) rotary systems.
Material And Methods: MesioBuccal canals of lower molars with curving angles ranging from 15° to 45° were used in 30 patients to evaluate the apical transportation and centering ability of Tornado, WO, and OS.

To be responsive to the growing mental health inequities in our communities, we must move beyond incremental changes to our graduate training to bolder, more transformative changes. Such efforts must move beyond targeting our academic, internship, and postdoctoral programs and instead focus on critiquing our accreditation process. Without transformation of accreditation and other macrostructural dynamics in psychology, our training programs will continue to perpetuate the status quo and limit the ability of graduate trainees to adequately address mental health disparities.
